Gyumri Art Week 2024 accepts the name of Yervand Kochar (1899-1979) as the epigraph of the festival. The Contemporary Art Festival directs its artistic research to the city and its surroundings as a complex living organism.* Changing historical, social, environmental and cultural paradigms of the city's development over the centuries. Changing names, architectural plans and styles, monuments, natural landscapes, social structure, environment and environmental conditions inside and outside the ecosystem of the modern city. The city, like the thousand-faced Greek god Proteus (ancient Greek: Πρωτεύς), is capable of transformation, changing its identity, subjecting itself to the passage of time. The projects of the festival will take place in Gyumri, Yerevan, and the art residencies will be held in Stepanavan, Odzun, Spitak and Shorzha (at the creative place of the Union of Artists).
